Second education of authorised trainers of the Schreibmotorik Institut

As of now there are two more independent authorised trainers on hand for the Schreibmotorik Institut. They were trained in a two-day seminar in Vienna.

For the future trainers Karin Berger and Sabine Schilhammer the instruction had started with a self-learning unit in which they dedicated themselves to an example of movement learning and edited this example didactically for the seminar. At the beginning of the two-day event they presented their lectures: How do children learn to walk? How do children learn to ride a bike? How do children learn to eat? Those examples shone a light on the meaning of movement learning for handwriting from a different perspective.

In the main part of the seminar facilitator Gerhard E. Kranz, likewise an authorised Schreibmotorik Institut trainer, presented the participants the Writing Motor Skills System according to Dr. Marquardt and Schreibmotorik Institut, the computer based analysis tool WritingCoach® as well as the pedagogical concepts behind the Lettering Pioneer’s Box and the Writing Explorer’s Box. Stéphanie Deix, authorised trainer of the Schreibmotorik Institut in Austria, helped with the practical exercises with the Lettering Pioneer’s Box and the Writing Explorer’s Box.

Another part of the examination took place on the second day. Together they developed and presented a new topic within the group to deepen the content of the training and apply it themselves immediately. The examination will be finished with a written elaboration of the respective topic from the self-learning unit.

The participants thought the content of the training to be “very helpful, practically orientated and elemental for every educator.“ Moreover they valued that the design of the training allowed the lectures to be responsive to them. “I have gained a profound basis“, says one of the future authorised trainers of the Schreibmotorik Institut.
